Project Eden (California Solution Set)

Goal:
Combat Global Warming by Encouraging Exponential Growth in Typically Arid Conditions.

Inciting Ideas:
If human beings are capable of creating significant change in the global environment, localized changes on the environment to steer development of new, non-commercial growth to help offset traumatic climate changes are paramount.
Primary source of carbon emission reduction is plant growth.
Prevention of wildfires in normally dry areas and development into wooded marshland both ensures clean, plentiful fresh water, creates a solid carbon sink, and proves an effective break against wildfire.

Project Site:
The New Californian Marshlands

Proposed Support Sites:
Water Collection Sites West of Petrolia, CA (preferably deep water).
Desalinization Plants located East-North-East of Platina, CA.
Adjoining Saltwater pipelines.
Artificial Waterhead located at Desalinization Plants.
Feeder Canals leading south from Artifical Waterhead.
Green Belt from Redding, CA to Vacaville, CA along the I-5 corridor to hedge in marshlands and reduce flooding hazards.

Project Eden: The New California Wooded Marshlands Initiative

As wardens of the earth, it is our duty to find solutions to the problems we've allowed to culminate and implement those solutions for the well-being of the future generations. The purpose of Project Eden is to prove that its possible to undo the damage being done to our planet, by creating artificial waterheads and through them engineer man-made rivers and marshlands.

If proven successful, this method of irrigation can be applied in new locations, expanding the availability of clean, healthy water being supplied into the ecosystem to help restore and expand the existing water table, reduce carbon emissions by providing environmental design fire prevention.

Methods:
Initial excavation of the pipelines and canals as the first desalinization plant is constructed and the first Water Collection Site is brought online.

Redevelopment of the Water Collection Site model as direct impact on marine life is documented to reduce negative impact and increase positive.

Creation of initial Waterhead.  Spread of headwaters.  Begin seeding, fertilizing. Irrigation to the greenbelt.  Set greenbelt to advance ahead of marshland foundation.  As new desalinization plants come online expand the marshlands until we reach Vacaville, at which point we would connect with a nearby naturally moving waterway to supplement it further.

Next stage development would call for the deepening of a manmade river through the middle of the marhlands as further plants came online and adding new plants west of Redding to establish a manmade tributary to the Sacramento River.

Discussion:
If you have a disagreement with an idea presented here, I appreciate your reasonable counter-proposal for an alternative method of implementing Project Eden.
